A Trip To The Library

This week Jordana Wright Photography has been teaching two sections of Intermediate Photography at the Paris Art Center.  Once again, the students are really impressing me with their constant improvement and talent.  This week we've been working on abstractions, landscapes, looking at the world from a new perspective, understanding light, and portraiture.  This week we've also had record heat, so we headed to the Paris Public Library to see what we could find in the comfort of the AC.  It was a really great experience for everyone.  It was the perfect opportunity to reexamine things you normally see everyday and take for granted.  At the end of the week I'm going to be posting a collection of the students' photographs from this summer's Basic & Intermediate Photography Classes, but for now, here are a few of my favorites that I took at the Library in Paris.  Click on any image to see it in our Archives.  Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting!  Check back later in the week for photographs by the students!

Photo Walks in Paris, Illinois

Last week I had the opportunity to work with some budding photographers from Paris, Illinois and surrounding towns.  I taught a Basic Photography Class through the Paris Art Center as part of their Summer Art Classes.  Each day of class, we focused on the basic principles of photography, exploring downtown Paris for textures, patterns, and interesting composition.  Here are a few of my favorite images I took while working with the students.  Click any image to view it in our Archives.

Later in the week I will be posting some of the excellent photographs taken by the students.  My Intermediate Photography Class at the Paris Art Center will be held from July 13th through the 17th.  We still have a few openings!  Contact the Paris Art Center at (217)466-8130 for more information!  Thanks for visiting!
